PERFECTLY PROPORTIONED

We were asked to realise a full size 1:1 model of a perfectly proportioned room, designed by John Pawson architects for his retrospective exhibition at The Design Museum. It was a great challenge to meet the perfection required whilst keeping to a tight install schedule.

The 1:1 room was a way of the public having a direct experience of Pawson’s work. We also produced material pallets and oak and glazed plinths for models and exhibits.

“I wanted at least one element of the show to be a direct architectural experience, so I’ve designed a 1:1 installation for the gallery. It’s the first time anyone’s tried to put a building inside the design museum.” - John Pawson
