PROJECT
Lewes Castle Throne
CLIENT
SUSSEX ARCHAEOLOGICAL SOCIETY
LOCATION
LEWES, EAST SUSSEX
DATE
2022
We were asked by The Sussex Archaeological Society to provide a medieval throne for one of the rooms used by school visits in the barbican tower of Lewes Castle. The throne was to be used for role play, alongside interactive equipment and dressing up boxes. The design came from our research into medieval thrones and was made from oak. Although a small project, it was a pleasure to make something for our local castle. Carrying it up the spiral staircases of the tower was a challenge!
