In collaboration with Marcus Barnett Studio, we were commissioned to design pieces based around the themes of Alice in Wonderland and chinoiserie, for an enchanted family garden in Kensington.  There were several design challenges, from making the small garden feel more spacious to disguising a large air conditioning enclosure.

The journey was very creative, resulting in several different concepts. Working closely with the client and garden design team, we settled on baroque ruined columns, mirrored trellis panels, a small playhouse that opened up as a performance stage, and a climbing frame in the corner of the garden. The structures were all traditionally handmade from oak. We also designed a swing seat inspired by oriental bird cages and art nouveau.
